The question, "Can you build...?" is often the beginning of a rewarding design relationship. The commissioning process may begin with a phone call or e-mail to Larry to arrange an appointment or simply by stopping by the shop if you are in the neighborhood. This meeting can take place at the location for the proposed piece or at Piser Designs and will involve a detailed discussion regarding the specific requirements of the commission.
During the initial meeting Larry will carefully go over the design process. This will include discussing wood species, style, function, budget and any other requirements of the piece. At the close of this meeting, a $200 design deposit is requested. Larry will then supply up to three designs of the commissioned piece. Once the design is approved, the client provides a 50% deposit (minus the $200 design fee). Complementary sawdust available upon request. |
